Siloam Springs had two boys golfers finish in the top three in its second golf tournament of the season.

Sophomore Cody Beyer and senior Brandon Coale finished second and third, respectively, Wednesday at the Springdale Bulldog Invitational at Springdale Country Club.

Beyer's score of 72 placed him three strokes behind medalist Jackson Marseilles of Harrison, who was the top golfer with a 69.

Coale finished one stroke behind his teammate, Beyer, with a 73.

The two were among the leaders Monday and Tuesday at the Ultimate Ford Golf Tournament in Mountain Home.

"Really proud of how Brandon and Cody played over the last three days," said Siloam Springs golf coach Michael Robertson. "If not the toughest, those two courses -- Springdale Country Club and Big Creek -- are as tough as anything they will see all season, and they put up some really good scores and both had a chance to go a lot lower all three days. They are really playing well, and I expect them to only keep playing better."

Overall, the Panthers finished tied with Rogers for fourth as both schools shot a 335 in the play-five, count-four format.

Harrison won the tournament overall with a team score of 312, followed by Fayetteville 322 and Bentonville 324. Greenwood finished fifth with a 339, followed by Van Buren 352, Springdale Har-Ber 368, Rogers Heritage 414 and Springdale High 444.

Senior Cody Casebeer shot a 92 for the Panthers' third best score, while sophomore Noah Karp's 98 and senior Hunter Tilley's 100 rounded out Siloam Springs' scoring.

The Panthers played the Springdale Invitational without two of their best golfers in junior Aaron Jones and senior Brendan Lee, who were both out with injuries.

Jones had to withdraw after the first day of the Ultimate Ford Golf Tournament after Monday's opening round when a back injury flared up. Lee, a senior, also aggravated a back injury in Mountain Home, but he was able to finish the tournament.

"They will be fine," Robertson said. "Just going to shut them down for a little while and let them rest. ... One positive is some other guys are getting opportunities to get varsity experience. When we get healthy I know we are going to be a good team and have a great season."
