Boys golf defeats Greenwood

After nearly two weeks away from the golf course, the Siloam Springs boys and girls golf teams returned to action with two matches last week.

Siloam Springs played at Fayetteville on Tuesday before finishing the week on Thursday at Greenwood.

SSHS-Greenwood

GREENWOOD --Sophomore Cody Beyer carded a 36, just one point off the medalist score of 35, and Siloam Springs outshot Greenwood 155-157 to win on Thursday at Vache Grasse Country Club.

Seniors Brandon Coale and Cody Casebeer each shot 39 for Siloam Springs, while senior Brendan Lee and junior Aaron Jones rounded out the Panthers' scoring with 43s each.

Christian Griffith was the overall medalist for Greenwood with a 35, while Nathan Munday and Ben Reisberg each shot 41, Ryan Reagan 42 and Jake Herrell 44.

In junior varsity action, Siloam Springs' Noah Karp shot a 39, while Mitchell Baker carded a 44 and Kyle Comiskey a 47.

In the girls match, Greenwood defeated Siloam Springs 131-158.

Junior Amanda Glass led the Lady Panthers with a 47, while Brinkley Beever shot 53, Bailey Turner 58 and Halle Hevener 63.

Greenwood's Olivia Austin shot the low score of 42, while Sydnie Gamble and Molly Lynch each shot 43. Lexie Adams shot 46 and Arabelle Marvin shot 50.

SSHS-Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE -- Brandon Coale shot a 36 for Siloam Springs, but his teammates struggled against Fayetteville as the Bulldogs shot their way to a 163-175 win Tuesday at Paradise Valley Country Club.

Brendan Lee shot a 44 for the Panthers, while Cody Beyer carded a 46, Noah Karp a 49 and Cody Casebeer 57.

Luke Long shot a 34 and was medalist for the Bulldogs, while Palmer Hays shot 41, Matthew Cole 42, and Jake Wanrer and Andrew Elsass each 46.

In junior varsity action for Siloam Springs, Hunter Tilley shot a 49, while Mitchell Baker shot 50.

In the girls match, Fayetteville defeated Siloam Springs 122-159.

Amanda Glass and Brinkley Beever each shot 47 for the Lady Panthers, while Halle Hevener shot 65 and Bailey Turner 73.

Anna Grace Lavy shot 35 to lead Fayetteville, while Reagan Gates shot 40, Kendall Vermillion 47 and Katelyn Campbell 50.

Up next

The Panthers and Lady Panthers play Harrison at Harrison Country Club on Thursday.

On Saturday, SSHS will hold its annual Lyle Licht Memorial Tournament beginning at 8 a.m. at Siloam Springs Country Club. The tournament is an annual fundraiser for the high school golf program.
