SPRINGDALE -- The Siloam Springs tennis teams opened their 2014 season on Thursday with a tri-match against Springdale and Mountain Home held at Springdale High School.
The Panthers and Lady Panthers combined for five wins against the two schools.
Boys
In No. 1 boys singles against Mountain Home, Siloam Springs' Kip Dooley lost to Jayden McClelland 8-2, while Siloam Springs' Heyden Smith lost to Billy Beck 8-1 at No. 2 singles.
In No. 1 doubles, Mountain Home's team of Trent Randall and Jack Arp defeated Siloam Springs' team of Zack Gregory and Smith 8-2.
The Panthers' duo of Kip Dooley and Noah Dooley defeated Randall and Arp 6-1 in doubles.
At No. 2 doubles, Siloam Springs' team of Pablo Amaya and Michael Guffy defeated Hunter Morrison and Jacob Davis 8-6.
Morrison and Davis then defeated Siloam Springs' team of Reagan McCarver and Chad Hall 6-3.
Against Springdale, Gregory was defeated by Tony Kopek 8-0, while Springdale's Spencer George defeated Noah Slater 9-7.
In doubles, Kip Dooley and Noah Slater defeated Springdale's team of Danny Chue and Kenny Kaious 6-2.
The Panthers' team of Hunter Wilkinson and Chad Hall defeated Angel Lopez and Sammy Salgabo 8-6.
Girls
Against Mountain Home, Lady Bomber Cortni Thomas defeated Siloam Springs' Josie Backus 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Mountain Home's Kaytlin Jones defeated Siloam Springs' Madelaine Thomas 6-1.
In doubles, Mountain Home's team of Cara Conner and Maddy Lewis defeated Kenzie Meeker and Olivia Myers 6-1.
Against Springdale, Backus lost to Mercedes Ruiz 8-1 at No. 1 singles, while Thomas was defeated by Springdale's Caity Townsend 8-0.
In doubles play, the Siloam Springs team of Meeker and Myers defeated Allie Crossland and Gaylene Perez 8-6.
