Ninth-grade girls improve to 6-1, boys get second win

GRAVETTE -- The Siloam Springs ninth-grade girls improved to 6-1 on the season Thursday with a 33-29 win at Gravette.

Shaylon Sharp led Siloam Springs with nine points. The Lady Panthers led 13-6 after the first quarter and 17-9 at halftime. Siloam Springs entered the fourth quarter ahead 26-18.

Siloam Springs won the eighth-grade game 38-29 for the Lady Panthers' first win of the season. Alexis Roach led the Lady Panthers (1-3) with 14 points.

Boys

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys notched their second win of the season Thursday as the Panthers defeated Gravette 51-19.

Marquan Sorrells led Siloam Springs (2-5) with 17 points, while Garrett Self had 12 and Bairon Magana and Diego Flores each scored seven.

Siloam Springs led Gravette 9-2 after the first quarter and 22-8 at halftime. The Panthers took a 36-13 lead into the fourth quarter.

Siloam Springs won the eighth grade game 49-20. L.T. Ellis led the Panthers (3-1) with eight points, while Murphy Perkins scored seven, and Sonny Hankins, Karson Clement and Logan Kleckner each scored six.

The Lady Panthers play at Bentonville Black on Monday, while the Panthers host Black at the Panther Activity Center.
