SSHS girls lose in semis

INOLA, Okla -- The Siloam Springs girls basketball team fell behind early against Tahlequah Sequoyah and never could catch up Thursday in the winner's bracket semifinals of the Jerry Oquin Invitational.

Tahlequah Sequoyah outscored the Lady Panthers 17-5 in the fourth quarter to finish off a 49-34 victory over the Lady Panthers.

Siloam Springs trailed 12-8 after the first quarter and 22-17 at halftime.

Siloam Springs closed the gap within 32-29 going into the fourth quarter.

Bailee Owens led the Lady Panthers with 12 points, all on four 3-pointers.

Baily Cameron scored nine points for Siloam Springs (4-3).

The Lady Panthers played in the third place game on Saturday afternoon. Results were not available at presstime.

The Lady Panthers return to action on Friday against Rogers Heritage at Panther Activity Center.
