Siloam Springs Rainbow Girls attend 2014 State Convention

Arkansas' Grand Assembly of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls was held in Springdale at the Holiday Inn Northwest Arkansas and Convention Center June 26-29, 2014.

Siloam Springs Assembly number 11 took fourteen girls and twenty-four adults to join the other Assemblies at the annual state convention.

The four-day event was full of business sessions and fun events, which included a picnic dinner and skit/talent show. The culmination of the 2013-14 year celebrated six state officers from Siloam Springs, including Grand Worthy Associate Advisor Rachael Carr, Grand Charity Elizabeth Reisbeck, Grand Drill Leader Tanna Eiland, Grand Immortality Denise Bates, Grand Patriotism Conner Bedor and Grand Outer Observer Erica Springer, as well as State Mother Advisor, Patti Eiland.

Awards were presented to the very talented ladies of Siloam Springs Assembly number 11 at the banquet on the final evening of the convention:

• $1,500 Scholarships: Conner Bedor, Tanna Eiland and Elizabeth Reisbeck

• $1,000 Scholarship: Holly Welch

• First place in Grand Assembly Program Ad Sales

• First place in Assembly Scrapbook Competition

• Second place in Assembly Drill Competition

• First place in Assembly Ruby Red Slipper Decorating Competition

• First place in Assembly Skit Competition

Ritual Competition (speech and memorization)

• Second place, junior level, Erica Springer for Nature's Initiation Part

• Third place, senior level, Rachael Carr for Charity's Pot of Gold Lecture

• Second place, senior level, Elizabeth Reisbeck for Charity's Pot of Gold Lecture

• Second place, junior level, Denise Bates for Chaplain's Prayers

• First place, junior level, Tie for High Point, Denise Bates for Rose Ceremony

• First place, senior level, Tie for High Point, Elizabeth Reisbeck for Rose Ceremony

• First place, junior level, Overall High Point, Denise Bates for Gavel Talk

• Second place, senior level, Elizabeth Reisbeck for Gavel Talk

• Second place, senior level, Rachael Carr for Awesome Seven (all seven initiation bow lectures)

For the first time in 25 years, Siloam Springs was honored to have one of its own installed as Grand Worthy Advisor, the leader of Arkansas Rainbow for the coming year. Rachael Carr, daughter of Patrick and Adriane Carr, is only the third state president of the Rainbow Girls from Siloam Springs since Siloam Springs Assembly started in 1945. The two Past Grand Worthy Advisors from Siloam Springs are Kathy Van Poucke Murray and Cindy Dilbeck Covington.

Denise Bates -- Grand Drill Leader

Tabitha Eiland -- Grand Outer Observer

Patrick Carr was also named State Rainbow Dad.

Also appointed as Grand Representatives (state pen-pals) from Arkansas:

Lily Mejia -- Florida and Mississippi

Julianna Coyle -- Georgia

Rebecca Villarreal -- Nevada

Maddie King -- New York

Madelyn Trolinger -- Oklahoma

Maribeth Reisbeck and Julie Lewis were named as Ambassadors of Goodwill and Patti Eiland, Adriane Carr and Maribeth Reisbeck were reappointed to the State Executive Board.
