Lady Panthers swept by Russellville, Greenwood

RUSSELLVILLE -- The Siloam Springs volleyball team fell to 7-5 overall and 1-2 in 7A/6A-Central play on Thursday after being swept by Russellville 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-19).

It was the Lady Panthers' second straight 3-0 loss as the team was swept by Greenwood on Tuesday at Panther Activity Center.

Sierra Cifuentes led the Lady Panthers with six kills, while Baily Cameron had five.

Cifuentes and Taylor Gay each had 15 digs. Arika Johnson had seven assists and Sidney Avery had six.

The Lady Panthers host Class 7A Conway on Tuesday.

Siloam Springs wasn't able to slow down Greenwood on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs were superior in all phases of the volleyball match and walked out of Panther Activity Center with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-21) sweep of the Lady Panthers.

The game was an important one for both schools because it was both team's first conference game against another 6A, which counts toward advancing to the postseason. Games against 7A schools do not count toward postseason advancement.

The Lady Bulldogs dominated at the net with 17 total blocks, including 10 solo blocks.

Junior hitter Erin Black finished with a team-high 10 kills and had three solo blocks. Junior Kelsey Knox had six kills and four solo blocks, while junior Reagan Jones had six kills and two solo blocks.

Sophomore Madi Pfeiffer had nine kills.

Baily Cameron had 11 kills to lead Siloam Springs, which finished the match with 14 hitting errors.
