Ninth annual Pearls and Boots fundraiser set for Friday

n The event is a benefit for Community Clinic Siloam Springs Medical.

The ninth annual benefit for Community Clinic Siloam Springs Medical, Pearls and Boots, will be a chance to celebrate the organization's impact on community health over the past decade, according to Tyler Clark, community development manager.

The event will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Cypress Barn located at 20690 Bruce Rutherford Road in Siloam Springs. It will include dinner, dancing, wine and beer, and live and silent auctions. Cocktails and music will begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m.

The event will be a chance for the community to learn more about the clinic and give back to a great cause, Clark said. All the money raised will stay in Siloam Springs. It will be earmarked to help local patients pay for their medical needs.

Clark hopes the event will help raise awareness about what the clinic has to offer. The overarching goal of the clinic is to foster healthy people and healthy communities, he said.

It's a common misconception that Community Clinic Siloam Springs Medical provides free services, Clark said. Patients do contribute toward their care. The clinic offers a sliding pay scale based on patient's income and household size. The minimum fees are $20 for an office visit and $5 for a lab. The clinic even works with people who have high deductibles and high premium insurance.

In 2013, Community Clinic served 2,500 people in Siloam Springs and there were more than 6,800 visits to their office. Throughout northwest Arkansas Community Clinic served more than 30,000 people in 2013, Clark said.

A local advisory board helps put on the fundraiser each year, Clark said.

Bert and Heather will be providing music for the benefit. The event will feature the largest selection of live and silent auction the organization has ever had with more than $10,000 in items, Clark said. Some featured items will be a Brent Bielema signed football, a guided hunting and fishing tour and a La-Z-Boy chair.

Dress is "rustic chic," which means jeans and boots, Clark explained.

Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased by calling Community Clinic Siloam Springs Medical at 524-9550.
