Upward Bound gymnasts compete in state championships

Upward Bound Gymnastics Teams, levels 3 through 6, traveled to The Stephens Center on the campus of University of Arkansas Little Rock to compete in the 2015 USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic State Championships.

Coaches were owner Nathan Patterson, Kristen Shaw and Brianna Jackson. Those finishing in the top three in level 6 for vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and for all-around were:

• Cailee Johnson, 9, first place all around, second place vault, first place uneven bars, third place balance beam and second place floor exercise.

• Emma Norberg, 10, second place all-around, first place vault and first place uneven bars.

• Kendra Wilkie, 11, second place all-around, second place uneven bars and third place balance beam.

• Vanessa Williams, 11, third place uneven bars.

• Kate Shaw, 12, second place balance beam.

• Madison Boehmer, third place balance beam.

Those finishing in the top three in level 3 for vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and for all-around were:

• Katelyn Wilson, 8, second place all-around, first place vault and second place floor exercise.

• Hannah Glass, 10, third place balance beam.
