Baseball loses ninth straight at Springdale

SPRINGDALE -- The Siloam Springs baseball team lost its ninth straight game Saturday, dropping a 4-0 nonconference game to Springdale at Tyson Park.

Springdale scored all four of its runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, breaking a 0-0 tie.

Springdale only had two hits in the game, but the big blow was a three-run double by Whitaker, turning a 1-0 game into a 4-0 lead.

Logan Hamilton (0-2) took the loss for Siloam Springs, pitching four innings and allowing one earned run. Zac Bolstad and Josh Hunt also pitched in relief for the Panthers (2-14, 0-6 7A/6A-Central Conference).

Offensively, the Panthers only had three hits -- doubles from Dodge Pruitt and Harrison Kretzer and a single from Chandler Cook.

Siloam Springs was scheduled to host Russellville on Tuesday for a 7A/6A-Central Conference game, however rain in the area on Monday made for wet field conditions and the game was postponed. A makeup date has not been announced.

The Panthers are scheduled to play at Conway on Friday for a 7A/6A-Central Conference doubleheader.
