Republican womento meet April 27

The Siloam Springs Republican Women will meet April 27 at the First Bank Community Room, 200 Progress Ave. Coffee Time is 6:30 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m. The program will include the award-winning speech by John Earles on the subject: "Why our Nation's Veterans are so important." Special guest will be, Staff Sergeant Bobby Wills who will speak on the history of the National Guard. We invite the community to hear our speakers. Walk for Life

Bridge for Beginners

A Bridge for Beginners course is available. Eight weekly lessons begin from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 4. Bridge is an interesting and challenging card game. These lessons are for beginners and anyone wanting to improve basic bridge skills. Lessons are free but class size is limited.

Earth Day shredding

Siloam Springs residents can celebrate Earth Day and the end of tax season by shredding confidential documents at a free community Shred Day hosted by Grand Savings Bank. A Shred-it truck will be on site at the Siloam Springs branch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 22. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to spring clean and bring all of their unwanted paperwork. Siloam Springs writers to meet

The May 7 meeting of Siloam Springs Writers will be held at 6 p.m. at First Bank Social Room on Progress Avenue. Please note the change of time. Tim McCord will speak on new information relating to Roy Chesney. Writing assignments to be brought to the meeting are: Prose - My Secret Garden, and Poetry - a Limerick. Senior Center Cinnamon Roll Fundraiser

The Siloam Springs Senior Activity & Wellness Center will hold its sixth annual Homemade Cinnamon Roll Fundraiser during the month of April. Place your order by Wednesday of each week, and rolls will be ready for pickup at the Senior Center on Friday of the same week. Cinnamon rolls are $9 for one dozen or $5 for a half dozen. Deliveries will be made to businesses for orders of two dozen or more. Siloam Springs Senior Activity & Wellness Center is located at 750 Heritage Court in Siloam Springs. JBU Art Show

John Brown University professor Peter Pohle will be sharing his oil paintings from his recent sabbatical in Germany and Ireland as well as local plein air pieces during his gallery show at the Windgate Visual Arts Center. The exhibit, titled "from countryside to courtyards," will be open through May 5. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Manna Center spring sale

Winter is out and summer is in. New spring wardrobes at reasonable prices are available at Manna Center Thrift Store. Summer merchandise is being taken from storage. Money from purchases goes back into the operation of the center. Any item that has been on the sales floor for one month is half price. The Manna Center is located at 670 Heritage Court beside the Boys and Girls Club. More information is available on the center's Facebook page.
