Junior girls win Tuesday's Pioneer Relays

GENTRY -- The Siloam Springs junior high girls track team scored 136.5 points and took first place in the Gentry Junior High Pioneer Relays held Tuesday, April 14, at Gentry High School.

Gravette came in second at 105.5, followed by Pea Ridge 83, Gentry 63, Decatur 53, St. Vincent De Paul 52, Elkins 50, West Fork 30, Shiloh Christian 18, Prairie Grove 16 and Farmington 8.

Chloe Price finished second overall in the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 8 inches and scored eight points, while Alexis Roach was third at 4-6 and scored six points. Chloe McGooden placed sixth in the event at 4-4 and scored three points.

Roach placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 13 feet, 2.5 inches and scored three points, while Price was 10th at 12-11.25 and Maddie Vaughan 17th at 12-00.

Price finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 29 feet, 7.5 inches and scored eight points, while Roach jumped 28-7 to finish sixth and scored three points. Brooke Henderson finished 11th with a leap of 26-4.5.

Allie Bowman took first place overall in the shot put with a throw of 30 feet, 7 inches to score 10 points, while Nicole Bossler finished sixth at 25-11 and scored three points. Karla Garcia finished in a tie for seventh at 25-10.5 and scored 1.5 points.

Bowman took second place in the discus with a throw of 73 feet, 2 inches and scored eight points. Garcia finished ninth at 51-3.

The Siloam Springs 4x800-meter relay team of Caroline Farine, Lin Lampton, Allika Pearson and Candy Dubon finished third overall with a time of 11 minutes, 32.01 seconds and scored six points.

Henderson placed fourth overall and scored five points in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.69, while Vaughan came in fifth and scored four points at 19.93. Kaitlyn Robinson finished 16th overall with a time of 25.14.

McGooden finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.93 seconds and scored 10 points. Price finished third and scored six points at 14.17, and Roach was fourth and scored five points at 14.19.

Rebekah Rodgers placed fifth in the 1,600-meter run and scored five points with a time of 6:36.19, while Kimberly Guillen placed sixth and scored three points with a time of 6:36.96. Dubon placed ninth at 6:38.99.

The 4x100-meter relay of Mathe, McGooden, Price and Roach finished first and scored 10 points with a time of 55.26.

McGooden placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.71 and scored 10 points. Lampton placed 13th at 1:17.52, and Mathe was right behind her at 1:17.53.

Henderson placed seventh in the 300-meter hurdles at 1:01.42 and scored two points with Rodgers finishing eighth and scoring one point at 1:01.63.

Pearson placed fifth in the 800-meter run and scored four points with a time of 2:50.11. Farine finished sixth and scored three points at 2:51.14 with Lilly Slator finishing 12th at 2:59.24.

Vaughan placed 15th in the 200-meter dash at 32.31, while Maddie Lasater placed 16th at 32.70. Mathe placed 18th at 33.11.

The Siloam Springs 4x400-meter relay team of Farine, McGooden, Price and Roach placed first and scored 10 points with a time of 4:46.13.

Panthers

The Siloam Springs junior high boys placed fifth overall with 69.75 points. Meet-host Gentry took first place with 105 points, followed by Pea Ridge 97, Gravette 93 and Decatur 74.75.

Farmington placed sixth with 64 points, followed by Elkins 43.5, Prairie Grove 37, St. Vincent De Paul 21, West Fork 15 and Shiloh Christian 4.

Quan Sorrells earned the Panthers 10 points with a first place finish in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 8 inches. Dustin Ennis finished 13th at 4-10.

Sorrells finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 17-7.5, earning five points. Braden Smartt placed 14th at 15-11, while Gage Weaver placed 25th at 13-9.5.

Smartt scored one point after an eighth place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 31-6. Jose Trujillo placed 13th at 29-6, while Dillon Conn was 16th at 26-3.5.

Danny Fernandez placed first in the shot put at 43-00 and scored 10 points. Kameron Greenlee placed third at 36-9 and scored six points, while Wyatt Washington was 10th at 33-2.

Washington placed second in the discus and scored eight points with a throw of 120-7.75. Fernandez finished fifth at 106-00 and scored four points.

Caleb Ellis took third place in the pole vault with a height of 8-6, while Lee Thompson finished in a four-way tie for seventh place at 7-0 and scored 0.75 points.

Siloam Springs' 4x800-meter relay team of Isaac Leachman, Thomas Bridgeman, Chase Callahan and Miguel Paz took seventh place with a time of 10 minutes, 41.90 seconds and earned two points.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Payton Wright finished 12th with a time of 21.77, while Conn placed 15th at 22.23 and Ennis 17th at 23.26.

Sorrells placed third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.23 and scored six points. Smartt placed 15th at 12.86, while Ellis placed 17th at 13.21.

The Panthers' 4x100-meter relay team of Ellis, Fernandez, Smartt and Sorrells placed fourth and scored five points with a time of 49.62.

Jose Trujillo placed ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.40. Thompson placed 17th at 1:04.11, while Johnathan Voorhies was 18th at 1:05.55.

Wright placed 13th overall in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 52.72. Ennis placed 17th at 56.26 and Conn was 18th at 56.71.

Leachman earned two points in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.83, which was good for seventh place. Paz placed 15th at 2:41.17, while Bridgeman was 22nd at 2:49.37.

Primo Abbehi placed 12th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.41, while Thompson was 13th at 27.43 and Weaver 16th at 27.75.

Siloam Springs' 4x400-meter relay team of Ellis, Smartt, Trujillo and Voorhies placed fifth at 4:09.98, scoring four points.

The Panthers and Lady Panthers are scheduled to compete in the Northwest Arkansas Conference Junior High Meet at Springdale Har-Ber on Tuesday. The junior high regionals meet will be in Fayetteville on April 27.
