Panthers softball swept at Conway

CONWAY -- The Siloam Springs softball team was swept in a 7A/6A-Central Conference doubleheader at Conway on Thursday night.

The Lady Wampus Cats won the first game 12-2 before winning 13-0 in the nightcap.

The Lady Panthers fell behind 8-0 in the first inning of game one. Morgan Curtis was 2 for 3 at the plate for Siloam Springs, while Shayla Simmons had a hit and two RBIs. Hannah Evans, Morgan Pack and Ally Bunch each had a hit.

Evans (0-5) took the loss in the circle, while her defense committed six errors behind her.

Conway jumped to an 8-0 lead in game two, then scored five in the fourth to go up 13-0.

Curtis and Heidi Fernandez each had hits. Simmons (0-1) took the loss for the Lady Panthers (2-10, 0-7), who have now lost eight straight games.

The Lady Panthers play a nonconference game at Gravette on Tuesday. Siloam Springs returns to conference action on Friday against Alma.
