The John Brown University men's basketball team closed its first half of the season on a winning note.

The Golden Eagles snapped a five-game losing streak Friday with a 101-60 victory over Ecclesia inside Bill George Arena.

JBU improved to 6-6 with the victory, its last game before the Christmas break.

Senior point guard Luke Moyer led the Golden Eagles with a season-high 30 points on a 10 of 13 shooting performance, including 7 of 9 from behind the 3-point line.

Ricky Roberts chipped in 17 points, while Brandon Joseph scored 11 points for the Golden Eagles.

JBU led 45-27 at halftime and outscored the Royals (8-3) 56-33 in the second half.

JBU hit 33 of 70 shots from the field and 10 of 24 from behind the 3-point line. The Golden Eagles converted 25 of 32 shots from the free-throw line.

Defensively JBU held the Royals to 20 of 61 from the field and 4 of 18 from long range.

DeQucelan Bagsby led the Royals with 17 points while David Gaut Jr. had 10.

JBU is now off until Dec. 29-30 when it plays in the The Master's (Calif.) Classic in Santa Clara, Calif.

JBU will play San Diego Christian (Calif.) on Dec. 29 before wrapping up the tournament against host The Masters's on Dec. 30.

TULSA, Okla. -- John Brown lost to NCAA Division I Oral Roberts 88-53 on Wednesday night in a game that counted as a regular season game for ORU and as an exhibition for JBU.

Obi Emengano led Oral Roberts (8-2) with 14 points, while Kris Martin scored 13.

Griffin Brady led John Brown with 13 points and Ricky Roberts added 11.
