Apologetics on FIre conference is Feb. 22

A Christian apologetics conference will be held at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church on Sunday, Feb. 22. Dr. James Burkett, president of Foundation Ministries International, will present three messages titled "Christianity is a Factual Faith." Dr. Burkett has presented conferences across the nation as well as internationally. Whether you are just beginning to inquire about the Christian faith, or if you have been a believer for decades and desire to be strengthened in your understanding of the Bible, please mark your calendar for this event. Shrove Tuesday pancake supper

Grace Episcopal Church will be serving a pancake supper with all the trimmings from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17. All proceeds benefit the Genesis House. Cost is $5 per adult, and $3 per child. Ash Wednesday at Grace Episcopal

Grace Episcopal Church will have Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Grace Episcopal Church and Pour Jon's Coffee. Service times at Grace Episcopal Church, located at 617 N. Mount Olive St. will be 12:10 p.m. and 6 p.m. (with music and childcare).

Ashes to Go at Pour Jon's Coffee, located at 223 N. Wright St. will be available at the following times:

• 7-8:30 a.m.

• 1-2 p.m.

• 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Christian book sales

The Tattered Page is a used Christian bookstore carrying topics ranging from christian living, fiction, study, self-help, parenting and Bibles. The current sale is buy 2 books, get one free. The bookstore is a non-profit with all sales going to Kind at Heart Ministries, which help and support the elderly and disabled in the community. The bookstore is accepting book donations. Harvard Avenue Baptist Church

Harvard Avenue desires to connect all people to Christ, His community, and His calling. They invite the community to join them on Sunday morning. Share the Warmth clothing drive

The office of Dr. Susan Vaughn, Snappy Dry Cleaners and the Eastgate Church of Christ will be accepting new and gently worn coats and sweaters of all sizes to distribute to those in need during cold weather. Contributions can be dropped off at Vaughn's office at 820 State Line Road, Snappy Dry Cleaner's at 618 S. Holly St., and the church at 1997 U.S. Highway 412 East. Items will be cleaned at Snappy Dry Cleaners then distributed at the clothing give away, held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the first and third Friday night of each month at the Eastgate Church of Christ. Ladies Bible study

Women are invited to a weekly Bible study, titled Exodus: Journey to Freedom, from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursdays. The class is taught by Laura Macfarlan and is held at First Baptist Church. A nursery and classes for children are provided. For more information call 524-3106 or email [email protected].

Mothering Matters

Mothering Matters, a ministry of Siloam Springs Bible Church, is designed to minister to mothers of young children. Meetings will be generally held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. the first and third Fridays of each month. The premise of Mothering Matters is based on Titus 2:3-5. Childcare is provided. Children's Choir School

The Grace Children's Choir School -- GCCS -- will meet during the 2014-2015 academic year at Grace Episcopal Church from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays. Core Essentials classes

Harvard Avenue Baptist Church will be hosting "Core Essentials" -- an adult education hour on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. A variety of courses relating to the Christian life will be offered, including: How to Study the Bible, Spiritual Disciplines, What Is the Church?, New Testament Survey, Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, and Disciples Making Disciples. Hope's Kitchen at Saint Mary

Hope's Kitchen at Saint Mary Catholic Church provides free meals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month. Veterans, the homeless, needy, elderly, unemployed, lonely and any families with children are invited to the free home-cooked meal. Volunteers needed

The Community Storehouse, a ministry of Overdrive Church that provides necessities to families in need, is looking for volunteers for the following times: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Volunteers will meet with guests, enter information into a database, sort through and process donations and make deliveries to those who are unable to come to the Storehouse. Other tasks may be done on an as-needed basis. If interested, call Cassandra Whitaker at 479-228-2534.

Watts Bible study
