Ramay sweeps junior high teams

Fayetteville Ramay got off to a fast start Monday against Siloam Springs, and the Lady Indians never slowed down as they rolled to a 50-19 win in a ninth-grade girls basketball game.

Ramay led 8-1 in the first quarter when Chloe Price pulled the Lady Panthers within 8-4 after hitting a 3-pointer in the corner.

Things turned south quickly at that point for Siloam Springs, which played the whole game without starting point guard Morgan Vaughn after she recently suffered a broken nose.

The Lady Indians went on a 30-0 run spanning into the second quarter and took a 38-4 lead.

Only a Price free throw at the end of the first half kept the Lady Panthers (9-7) from being shut out in the second quarter.

Ramay led 40-5 at halftime and took a 46-9 lead going into the fourth quarter, which was played with a running clock.

Price hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for Siloam Springs and finished with 15 points.

Coriah Beck led Ramay with 19 points, while Sasha Goforth had 11 and Destiny Jackson had 10 points.

Ramay won the eighth-grade game 39-26. Alexis Roach led the Lady Panthers (2-9) with 11 points.

FAYETTEVILLE -- Fayetteville Ramay jumped out to an early lead and defeated the Panthers in the ninth-grade boys game.

The Indians led 12-6 after the first period and 33-26 at halftime.

Fayetteville Ramay outscored the Panthers (5-10) 20-8 in the third quarter to take a 53-34 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Spencer Lashley led the Panthers with 19 points, while Diego Flores scored 10 points.

Kaiden Martindale led Ramay (7-5) with 16 points, while Jon Conley scored eight points.

Ramay won the eighth-grade game 55-45. The eighth graders are 5-6 overall.

Up next

All four junior-high teams return to action on Thursday. The boys host Springdale George at Panther Activity Center, while the girls play at George.
