Springdale Southwest tops ninth-grade boys

Asa Hutchinson and Parker Weiser scored 14 points each to lead Springdale Southwest to a 50-34 victory over the Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys on Thursday at Panther Activity Center.

The Cougars (10-7, 3-1 Northwest Arkansas Conference) led 20-8 after the first period and pulled ahead 31-14 at halftime. Southwest carried a 40-24 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Grant Allen added 11 points for the Cougars.

Spencer Lashley led the Panthers (5-13, 0-5) with 12 points, while Garrett Self had 11 points.

Siloam Springs won the eighth-grade game 39-24.

Sonny Hankins led the Panthers (7-7) with 13 points while Karson Clement scored 12 points. Corbin Collins added six points.

Girls

Springdale Southwest 45, Siloam Springs 32

SPRINGDALE -- Springdale Southwest defeated Siloam Springs in the ninth-grade girls game to remain unbeaten in conference play.

The Lady Cougars (16-2, 5-0) led 14-10 after the first quarter and pulled ahead 24-15 at halftime. Southwest led 36-21 going into the fourth quarter.

Krislyn Smith led Southwest with 11 points while Khanni Shannon scored 10.

Eighth-grade Chloe Price led the Lady Panthers (10-9, 1-4) with 10 points.

Siloam Springs won the eighth-grade game 36-21. Price, McKenzie Blanchard and Alexis Roach all had eight points to lead the Lady Panthers (3-11).
