VFW says thank you
On behalf of Levi Douthit VFW Post 1674, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Siloam Springs community, city staff and car show judges for their support of the car, truck and bike show held on June 13.
It was a huge success with us having 27 entries.
We appreciate all of the local businesses who supported this event with generous donations.
We would like to thank the Native Warrior Car Club for helping with the organization of our first car show.
Thank you especially to all the participants who supported the Veterans of Foreign Wars, realizing it's not about the winning, it's about supporting veterans. You guys and gals are what made our event successful.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Holland Venue Barn out of Highfill for their generous donation from the Ozark Freedom Rally.
And, last but not least, it was our honor to retire flags at our flag retirement ceremony. This was a very humbling and educational experience; especially for some of the younger generation in attendance. Participation from the crowd -- even though a small group -- only added to the sincerity of this occasion.
Thank you Herald-Leader for a job well done in helping us promote our event and for covering the event in the newspaper with pictures submitted by different individuals. Planning is under way for next year -- hope to see you there.
