Siloam Springs Regional Hospital announced on Thursday that Patrick Kerrwood has been appointed chief executive officer effective July 13.

Kerrwood will replace Kevin Clement, who resigned from the position on May 22. Tom Sledge, chief operation officer at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, is serving as interim CEO for the Siloam Springs hospital until Kerrwood arrives.

Kerrwood has more than 10 years of hospital experience, according to a press release from SSRH. Most recently, he served as the assistant CEO of Northern Louisiana Medical Center, a 159-bed critical hospital in Ruston, La.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to join the dedicated board members, employees, medical staff and volunteers at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital," said Kerrwood. "I look forward to building on its many accomplishments and being a part of the future success of the hospital, as well as becoming an integral member of the community."

During his tenure, he oversaw enhancements in several key departments, including wound care, kidney stone removal and breast surgery. Northern Louisiana Medical Center also received several recognitions for excellence including "Top Performer on Key Quality Measures" from The Joint Commission. Previously, Kerrwood held leadership positions in several large hospitals in Florida.

"On behalf of the board, I am pleased to welcome Patrick to Siloam Springs," said David Cameron, chairman of Siloam Springs Regional Hospital Board of Directors. "He is an accomplished healthcare leader and I am impressed with his expertise. He will be a great fit for our hospital and community."

Kerrwood earned a bachelor of science degree in management from the University of Phoenix. He will complete his master of business administration degree from Louisiana State University-Shreveport in December 2015. He and his wife, Merritt, have two children.
