District fills vacant coaching spots

The Siloam Springs athletics coaching roster appears to be set for the 2015-16 school year, after several vacant positions were recently filled according to athletics director Kevin Downing.

The upstart seventh-grade volleyball program will be coached by varsity volleyball assistant Joellen Wright. Wright also will continue to coach seventh-grade basketball as well.

Latasha Armer has been named head middle school track coach, replacing Sharon Jones, who was named head varsity girls track coach in addition to her duties as head ninth-grade volleyball coach.

The track program also has several new assistants. Rebecca Ault, who is head ninth-grade girls basketball coach, has been named an assistant track coach. Volleyball assistant Kailey Bain has also been named an assistant track coach. She was assistant softball coach this past season.

The track moves fill the spots vacated by Rose Cheek-Willis and Ken Bolinger. Cheek-Willis will only coach volleyball and Bolinger will remain bowling coach.

Assistant soccer coach Cheyenne Miller also recently resigned her teaching and coaching position.
