All-Stars to play in games

Siloam Springs will have plenty of representation this week in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star Week in Conway.

All-Star Week, which began Tuesday with the baseball and softball games, continues today and will run through the end of the week with the football game being played on the purple and gray turf of Estes Stadium, home of the University of Central Arkansas Bears.

All Siloam Springs participants will play for the East All-Stars in their respective sports, as the teams from the 7A/6A-Central Conference were aligned with the East.

Siloam Springs had two football players -- Parker Baldwin and David Goodman -- selected to play in the All-Star football game, however neither were able to participate. Baldwin is headed off to San Diego State as a Division I signee, while Goodman will be kept out after recently having surgery.

Siloam Springs head football coach Bryan Ross will be an assistant coach for the East All-Stars. The All-Star football game will be played Friday at 7 p.m. at Estes Stadium.

Siloam Springs' other participants will be competing today in the volleyball and soccer games.

In volleyball, All-State libero Taylor Gay will compete for the East. The volleyball game is scheduled to be played tonight at 6 p.m. at the Farris Center on the campus of UCA.

In girls soccer, three-time All-State standout Annika Bos will represent Siloam Springs for the East All-Stars. Bos helped guide Siloam Springs to back-t0-back 6A state championships her junior and senior years. She has signed to play at John Brown University.

The girls soccer game begins at 5 p.m. at Estes Stadium.

Siloam Springs' 2015 soccer coach Chuck Jones was selected as an assistant coach, but he was unable to participate due to a family vacation.

In boys soccer, All-State midfielder James Pollard was selected to play for the East All-Stars. Pollard won a state title in Class 5A in his freshman season at Siloam Springs. He helped the Panthers reach the state finals in his sophomore and senior years, with the Panthers coming a goal short in both of those games.
