Softball team drops final game in tournament

FAYETTEVILLE -- Playing without two of its best players, the Siloam Springs softball team lost 10-1 Saturday in its final game of the Fayetteville/Farmington Fastpitch Softball Tournament at Lady Dawg Ball Yard.

The Lady Blackhawks scored six runs in the first inning and added a single run in the third inning. Pea Ridge scored three more runs in the fourth inning before the game was called because of time limit.

The Lady Panthers (1-2), who were playing without Morgan Pack (family trip) and Crissa Spry (injury), weren't able to generate much offense.

Siloam Springs scored its only run in the third inning when Hannah Evans reached on a single and courtesy runner Summer Vaughan came around to score on a base hit by Shayla Simmons.

Evans (0-2) took the loss in the circle for Siloam Springs.
