Panthers take third place

The Siloam Springs ninth-grade boys basketball team picked up a 42-37 win against Stilwell, Okla., in the third-place game of the Boys Gray Bracket on the final day of the Allen Classic on Saturday in the Panther Den.

Micah Eldridge led the Panthers (2-1) with 16 points, while Karson Clement had 11, Kaiden Thrailkill six, Matt Avery five, Baron Meek and Murphy Perkins each with two.

The Panthers led 15-6 after the first quarter but trailed 22-19 at halftime. Siloam Springs trailed 33-32 going into the final quarter.

In other boys' games on Saturday at the Allen Classic, Springdale Southwest defeated Greenwood 42-39 in the Boys Gray championship game, while Springdale Lakeside defeated Providence Academy 33-29 in the consolation finals.

Fayetteville White defeated Fort Smith Chaffin 54-52 in the Boys Maroon Bracket championship, while Springdale George defeated Rogers 52-48 in the third place game and Springdale Central defeated Farmington 35-24 in the consolation finals.

Girls

Chloe Price scored a game-high 16 points, but the Siloam Springs ninth-grade girls dropped a 47-44 decision to Stilwell, Okla., in the third place game of the Girls Gray Bracket of the Allen Classic.

Macey Eubanks led Stilwell with 10 points.

Alexis Roach added 10 points for the Lady Panthers (1-2).

In other Girls Gray Bracket games on Saturday, Greenwood defeated Springdale Southwest 36-27 in the championship game, while Prairie Grove defeated Springdale Lakeside 48-32 in the consolation finals.

In the Girls Maroon Bracket, Fayetteville White defeated Springdale Central 36-34 to win the championship, while Springdale George beat Rogers 32-11 in the third-place game and Farmington defeated Fort Smith Chaffin in the consolation finals.

Both Siloam Springs ninth-grade teams returned to action on Monday night at Fayetteville Purple. Because of early press deadlines due to the Thanksgiving holiday, results were not available for today's paper.

Both teams return to action at home on Monday, Nov. 30, against Springdale George.
