For the first time in his career, John Brown University senior forward Griffin Brady has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week, the conference offices announced Monday afternoon.

Brady lands his first-career weekly accolades after a career-setting contest at College of the Ozarks (Mo.) on Nov. 17. Against the Bobcats, the 6-foot-7 forward recorded 41 points and 15 rebounds, both career bests, while shooting 16 of 21 (76.2 percent) from the field in the 88-87 John Brown overtime loss. The scoring output immediately shot Brady into a tie for fourth in the program's all-time single-game scoring list while his 16 field goals tied for the third-most ever in a single game.

With the double-double, Brady has now recorded double-digit points and rebounds in three of JBU's four most recent outings. Brady now leads JBU, averaging 19.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. He is also ranked No. 9 nationally in shooting efficiency (64.4 percent), No. 12 in total points (152), No. 12 in total rebounds (71) and No. 12 in defensive rebounds per game (7.25). Overall, Brady ranks in the top-50 nationwide in eight different categories.
