Purple sweeps ninth-grade teams

FAYETTEVILLE -- The Siloam Springs ninth-grade girls basketball team came up short Monday night, losing 33-31 against Fayetteville Purple.

The Lady Panthers (1-3) trailed 7-5 after the first quarter but rallied to take a 15-14 lead at halftime. Fayetteville led 20-19 going into the fourth quarter.

Tigeris Quinn led Siloam Springs with six points, while Turtle Shreve and Chloe Price each had five, Alexis Roach and Emery Brown each had four, McKenzie Blanchard and Madison Pharr each had three and Hailey Dorsey had one.

The Panthers dropped to 2-2 with the loss to the Bulldogs.

Karson Clement led the Panthers with 10 points, while Murphy Perkins had seven, Baron Meek five, Matt Avery four and Micah Eldrige two.

Will Pridmore posted 11 points to lead Fayetteville Purple (3-1).
