SSHS volleyball swept twice

BRYANT -- The Siloam Springs volleyball team was swept at Class 7A Bryant on Thursday, as the Lady Hornets took a 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-14) victory.

The loss dropped the Lady Panthers to 3-14 overall and 2-7 in the 7A/6A-Central Conference.

VAN BUREN -- Van Buren returned the favor against Siloam Springs on its home court.

The Lady Pointers swept the Lady Panthers 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-23) on Tuesday at Clair Bates Arena in a 7A/6A-Central Conference match. Siloam Springs swept Van Buren 3-0 on Sept. 3 at Panther Activity Center.

Sophomore Shaylon Sharp led the Lady Panthers with six kills, while senior Haley Stewart had four kills and freshman Chloe Price three kills. Junior Madison Cooper, senior Krysten Hall and sophomore Hadlee Hollenback each had two kills, while sophomore Allie Bowman and junior Meg Gray both had one.

Price led the Lady Panthers with eight assists, while Gray had seven.

Senior Madisyn Fullerton led with seven digs, while Gray and senior Sam Wetzel each had three, Price two, and Sharp, Stewart and Cooper one dig each.

Price led with five aces, while Cooper had two, and Hollenback had one solo block.

The Lady Panthers played in the Fort Smith Invitational on Saturday. Results were not available at presstime. The Lady Panthers host Conway on Tuesday in a 7A/6A-Central Conference match.
