Siloam Springs XC runs at Chile Pepper

FAYETTEVILLE -- The Siloam Springs cross country programs competed in six different races on Saturday at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival held at the University of Arkansas' Agri Park.

Senior High Girls 'El Caliente'

Siloam Springs finished 19th out of 71 teams in the "El Caliente" race, which featured 549 runners. Southlake Carroll (Texas) won the race.

Siloam Springs junior Jasmine Guillen led the Lady Panthers with an 87th-place finish of 20 minutes, 7.43 seconds.

Sophomore Caroline Farine crossed the finish line next for the Lady Panthers at 20:26.21, followed by junior Mary Anne Reid at 20:36.53.

Sophomore Allika Pearson finished in 21:12.73, followed by junior Abigail Cole at 21:37.47, senior Alexis Duffy 21:59.97 and senior Bethany Rodgers at 22:30.25.

Senior High Girls Open

Ten more Lady Panthers competed in the 'Open' race, which featured 48 teams and 485 runners. Bentonville took first place overall in this race.

The Lady Panthers finished 26th.

Sophomore Melanie Capehart led Siloam Springs runners with a finish of 23:12.68, followed by sophomore Megan Rush at 23:32.60 and junior Maddy Hancock at 23:46.41.

Senior Sidney Avery ran a 25:32.52, while sophomore Averie Headrick finished in 25:40.92, senior Laura Gutierrez 25:47.61, sophomore Natalie Mathe 25:48.66, junior Whitney Burns 26:09.36, sophomore Lin Lampton 26:31.83 and junior Lilly Mejia-Villarreal 34:17.70.

Senior High Boys 'El Caliente'

A total of 84 teams and 658 runners competed in the Senior High Boys "El Caliente" race with the Lafayette (Mo.) Lancers coming in first place.

Siloam Springs placed 41st overall.

Panthers senior Elliott Pearson clocked a time of 16:34.42 for 78th place to lead Siloam Springs.

Junior Parker Wallis crossed the finish line next for the Panthers at 17:56.32, which was good for 300th.

Senior Connor Humphrey finished in 18:02.14, followed by senior Aaron Capehart at 18:11.43, senior Bobby Norwood 18:18.59, senior Ethan Rush 18:41.77, sophomore Isaac Leachman 18:47.69 and junior Charlie Jones 18:54.88.

Senior High Boys 'Open'

A total of 60 teams and 828 runners participated in the Senior High Boys "Open" race.

Oak Ridge finished first, while Siloam Springs finished 37th overall.

Junior David Williams led the Panthers with a 109th-place finish of 18:39.50. Junior Eli Hawbaker placed 235th at 19:28.04, followed immediately by sophomore Daniel Norwood in 236th at 19:28.27.

Junior Chandler Stewart finished in 20:19.68, while sophomore Ben Davis ran a 20:43.48, senior Jake Hancock 21:36.40 and junior Zach Becan 21:57.28.

Junior High Girls

Siloam Springs had six of its top seven runners place in the top 50 of the Junior High Girls race, and the Lady Panthers finished second overall with a score of 129, just 39 points behind Heritage Junior High, which won the meet with 90 points.

A total of 36 teams and 484 runners competed in the race, which was the junior high teams' first 5K of the season.

Candy Dubon placed 16th overall with a time of 20:59.63, while Chloe McGooden was 18th at 21:03.45.

Kimberly Guillen placed 32nd at 21:56.74 and Emma Hulbert was 37th at 22:13.35.

Lily Slater placed 44th at 22:33.03, while Rebekah Rodgers was right behind in 45th at 22:33.58.

Kaily Pentz rounded out Siloam Springs' top seven scores in 52nd place with a finish of 22:49.66, followed by Abby Thompson in 56th at 22:58.16, Eve Slater in 71st at 23:14.65 and Brooklyn Shreve in 74th at 23:18.14.

Brooke Price finished in 23:51.78, followed by Breanna Ramirez 24:15.62, Aurora Conroy, 24:24.99, Sydney Houston 24:49.27, Katie Bishop 25:18.25, Jordan Rush 25:42.72, Samantha Largent 25:43.54, Juliana Coyle 25:44.22, Rebecca Largent 27:08.53, Mary Grace Green 28:15.23, Sarah Hancock 28:32.45, Marlow Evans 31:49.46 and Kambryn Duncan 33:40.45.

Junior High Boys

Siloam Springs finished eighth overall out of 40 teams in the Junior High Boys race, which featured 615 runners.

Bentonville Black won the meet.

Ethan Davis was the Panthers' top finisher in 23rd place with a time of 18:28.36. Thomas Bridgeman was 26th at 18:38.24, followed by Kerrig Kelly in 38th at 18:58.15 and Landon Cottrell in 79th at 19:43.91.

Samuel Granderson finished in 20:18.81, while Michael Capehart crossed at 20:33.32, Adam Kennedy 20:34.33, Eric Davis 20:35.08, Logan McLeod 20:46.19, Chase Mills 21:11.69, Blake Morrison 21:28.32, Ethan Owens 21:48.36, Lincoln Myers 21:53.91, Joseph Garza 22:02.22, Oliver Reid 22:11.13, Kademon Price 22:19.53, Theron Perkins 22:21.45, Jake Gill 22:23.46 and Tyler Sharp 22:29.01.

Also running for the Panthers was Blaise Becan 23:05.90, Shad Holmes 23:45.70, Luke Markovich 23:53.50, Seth Funk 24.31.38, Andy Almanza 25:01.32, Esai Flores 27:03.95, Cole Geyer 27:04.75, Matt Hargett 27:24.70, Alex Arriaga 27:55.83, Jacob Brown 28:35.04, Christopher Svebek 29:15.51 and Ryan Lane 33:03.94.
