The Siloam Springs boys golf team's recent strong play continued Monday on its home course.

Senior Aaron Jones carded a medalist round of 32, and the Panthers defeated Van Buren, Springdale and Alma in a nine-hole match played at Siloam Springs Country Club.

Jones' 32 was a season-low, and junior teammate Cody Beyer shot a 37 as the Panthers had a count-four team total of 151. Van Buren shot 169, followed by Alma at 182 and Springdale at 220.

"The boys played a good team round with great rounds from Aaron and Cody," said golf coach Michael Robertson. "Obviously Aaron's round stands out, but Cody played a great round except for one hole."

Junior Noah Karp added a 39, while freshman Chase Beyer shot 43 and freshman Karson Clement rounded out the Panthers' scoring with a 47.

"Noah is getting closer to where he wants to be, which is helping our team scores so much," Robertson said.

Siloam Springs had the top four of the top five scores on the day with Springdale's Payton Wahman shooting 37 to tie Beyer for second place.

In junior varsity boys action, junior Kip Dooley shot a 44, while freshman Josh Johnson shot 46. Junior Solo Jackson shot a 52 with freshman Trey Jackson at 57, sophomore Jaxon Brown 59 and freshman Kaleb Williams 65.

Girls

In girls, Siloam Springs was the only school represented that had enough golfers for a team score, while Van Buren brought two girls and Alma one.

Senior Amanda Glass and sophomore Brinkley Beever each shot 42, finishing in a four-way tie for second place with Van Buren's Bre Lee and Jamilyn Kinney. Alma's only representative, Olivia Faught, shot a medalist round of 39.

Also for Siloam Springs, junior Bailey Turner shot a 54, freshman McKenzie Blanchard 59 and junior Halle Hevener 64.

"On the girls we played a good team round," Robertson said. "Amanda and Brinkley are starting to put up really good scores every time out and we are getting help from someone else every match. Even more exciting is we haven't peaked yet. We are going to continue to improve these next four weeks and see where we are when state gets here."

In junior varsity action, junior Alli Tolliver shot a 42, while freshman Jaelee Snyder shot 60 and freshman Kaitlyn Robinson 67.

Up next

The Panthers and Lady Panthers played Fayetteville at Paradise Valley Golf and Athletic Club on Tuesday afternoon. Results were not available at presstime.

Siloam Springs will turn around on Thursday and play against Harrison at Harrison Country Club.

"It will be a great test to see where we are against two of the best programs in the state," Robertson said.
