The Siloam Springs golf teams didn't play poorly in their final home match of the season Monday. In fact, the Panthers and Lady Panthers' scores were good.

But Greenwood's were simply better as the Bulldogs won both the boys' and girls' tri-match with Siloam Springs and Rogers Heritage at Siloam Springs Country Club.

Boys

In the boys, match, Greenwood carded a team score of 155 to best Siloam Springs score of 159 and Rogers Heritage 168.

Rogers Heritage's Jacob Winkel shot a nine-hole low round of 33 to earn medalist honors. Siloam Springs junior Cody Beyer and Greenwood players Nathan Munday and Evan Griffith all tied for second with a 36.

Siloam Springs senior Aaron Jones carded a 38, while junior Noah Karp shot 41, and freshmen Karson Clement and Chase Beyer each shot 44 in the play five-count four format.

"When you look at the scores, it's not like the scores were bad," said Siloam Springs golf coach Michael Robertson. "They were good scores. We left a lot of strokes out there. We left a lot of opportunities out there. We had several poor decisions around the green. It was a thing of bad decision-making and execution was not where it needs to be."

It was the Panthers' second match in the last two weeks. The Panthers had their match at Rogers rained out on Sept. 8 and only one match was played last week.

"We were kind of getting where everybody was playing pretty well there," Robertson said. "Then we had the the rain out and only played one last week. Last week was kinda a tough week with all the homecoming stuff. We didn't get a lot of routine in that week. We didn't play as well as we were capable today for sure."

For Greenwood, Houston Sowell shot 41, while Ryan Reagan shot 42 and Wyatt Blevins 47. For Rogers Heritage, Dylan O'Brien shot 41, followed by Chance O'Connor 44, Ryan Glesen 50 and Logan Rumsey 52.

In junior varsity boys action, junior Kip Dooley shot a 45, while junior Will Gambill shot 46, freshman Josh Johnson 50, junior Solo Jackson 51, freshman Trey Jackson 56, sophomore Jaxson Brown 58 and freshman Kaleb Williams 61.

Girls

Greenwood's Lexi Adams shot a 38 for medalist honors and Sydnie Gamble shot 39 to lead the defending 6A state champion Lady Bulldogs to a team score of 126.

Siloam Springs carded a team score of 146, while Rogers Heritage shot a 157.

"Greenwood, there's no shame in losing to them," Robertson said. "We've been trying to catch them for five or six years, but the thing is so is everybody else in the state."

Sophomore Brinkley Beever led the Lady Panthers with a 44, while senior Amanda Glass shot 50 and junior Halle Hevener 52.

Juniors Bailey Turner and Alli Tolliver shot 60 and 68, respectively, to round out the Lady Panthers' scoring.

"I looked last week and I think we've improved 25 strokes from a year ago as a girls team across three scores," Robertson said. "Twenty-five strokes is a huge improvement. It's just we're chasing people that are way ahead of us to begin with."

In junior varsity action, freshmen Kaitlyn Robinson shot a 62, while freshman Jaelee Snyder shot 72.
