Panthers go quietly in 10-0 loss to Alma

ALMA -- The Siloam Springs baseball team fell behind Alma early and never could get anything going in a 10-0 loss in six innings to the Airedales in a 7A/6A-Central Conference baseball game.

The game completed the first round of 6A Conference play for Siloam Springs (10-12, 2-7), which went 1-2 in its first three games against 6A competition, losing to Alma and Greenwood and defeating Russellville.

Alma (10-12, 4-7) went 3-0 versus 6A competition as the Airedales also defeated Greenwood and Russellville.

Greenwood (11-9, 5-6) went 2-1 after defeating Russellville 6-0 on Friday, while Russellville (6-17, 1-12) went 0-3.

The Airedales plated three runs in the first inning with the big blow coming on a Kyle McKeown two-run single.

Alma added single runs int he second and third before scoring three more in the fifth to go up 8-0.

The Airedales finished off the Panthers with a pair of runs in the sixth to get the run-rule victory.

Sophomore Brayden Johnson got the win for Alma, while Zac Bolstad (2-3) took the loss for the Panthers.

Kyle Comiskey had two of the Panthers' three hits, while Kaleb Francis had the other hit for Siloam Springs.

Siloam Springs returns to action at 5 p.m. on Monday for a 7A/6A-Central Conference doubleheader against Bryant.

Then on Friday, the Panthers host Greenwood in an important conference game among 6A teams.
