Junior high track ends at regional

FORT SMITH -- The Siloam Springs junior high girls track team finished their season Monday with a 10th-place finish at the Northwest Arkansas/River Valley Regional Meet held at Fort Smith Southside.

Rogers won the meet with 155 points, followed by Bentonville Black 85.5, Fayetteville Purple 58, Fort Smith Kimmons 56, Rogers Heritage 54, Bentonville Gold 45, Springdale Central 32, Fayetteville White 29.5, Fort Smith Ramsey 29, Siloam Springs 21, Springdale George 20, Greenwood 14, Fort Smith Chaffin 11, Van Buren 9 and Alma 5.

Shelby Johnson took second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 16.11 seconds and scored eight points.

Chloe Price finished ninth in the 400-meter dash, just missing a scoring spot with a time of 1:04.89.

The team of Brooke Henderson, Chloe McGooden, Price and Alexis Roach took 12th in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 55.55 seconds.

The team of Emma Hulbert, Johnson, McGooden and Price took fourth place and scored five points with a time of 4:33.69 in the 4x400-meter relay.

The team of Candy Dubon, Kimberly Guillen, Hulbert and Rebekah Rodgers placed fourth and scored five points in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 11:01.17.

Roach and Price finished in a four-way tie for ninth place in the high jump with a mark of 4 feet, 6 inches.

Kimber McWhorter placed ninth in the pole vault at 7-0, just missing a scoring spot.

Roach placed ninth in the long jump at 15-9.5, also narrowly missing a scoring mark.

Roach placed sixth in the triple jump at 32-6.5 and scored three points.

Junior high boys

The Siloam Springs junior high boys did not score any points to place at Monday's meet.

Bentonville Black won the meet with 131 points followed by Rogers 81, Springdale Central 81, Fort Smith Ramsey 63, Van Buren 45, Rogers Heritage 44.5, Springdale George 34, Fayetteville White 32, Fort Smith Chaffin 26, Greenwood 22, Alma 17.5, Fayetteville Purple 15, Fort Smith Darby 10, Springdale Lakeside 10, Springdale Southwest 8 and Fort Smith Kimmons 4.

The Panthers' only competitors were the team of Thomas Bridgeman, Dillon Ferguson, Nathan Knabel and Miguez Paz, who finished 11th in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 9:59.84.
