Gary Lynn Affolter

Gary Lynn Affolter, 69, of Colcord, Okla., died Aug. 28, 2016, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was born Feb. 11, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Richard J. Affolter and Bette Hircock. He was a former school teacher and served as a missionary in Nigeria, West Africa and Singapore. He retired from the Gravette Middle School in 2012. He was the original owner/operator of the Apple Crest Inn Bed & Breakfast in Gentry, Ark., which was opened in 1998. Gary was a member of the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church and Compass Fellowship.

He was preceded in death by a son Brett Affolter, and one sister, Jan Enders.

He is survived by his wife Dianne of Colcord; a daughter, Brittany Huls and husband Bryan of Colcord; a son, Bryan Affolter and wife Star of Ooltewah, Tenn.; two granddaughters; a sister, Karen Johnson and husband Darrell of Sandpoint, Idaho; and brother, Steve Enders and wife Jeanne of Olympia, Wash.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church in Gentry, Ark., with Pastor Werner Gil and Jason Pullman officiating.

Wilma Fern Garner

Wilma Fern Garner, 59, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Aug. 28, 2016 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

She was born Feb. 17, 1957 in Harrison, Ark., to John Alan Wright and Lois Evelyn Wright.

She worked for McKee Foods for 25 years. She enjoyed taking pictures, spontaneous road trips, working in her flower beds, and spending times with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Rori Calvert.

She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Calvert and husband Doug of Siloam Springs; three grandsons; four brothers, Elmer Wright of Harrison, Ark., Alan Wright and wife Annette of Jonesboro, Ark., Ronald Wright and wife Sheila of Harrison, Larry Wright and wife Candy of Siloam Springs, and Bill Wright and wife Lora Wright of Decatur, Ark.; and two sisters, Susie Wright of Harrison, and Kathy Lynn Wright of Siloam Springs.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs with Pastor Jason Kleckner officiating.

Tressie Ule Linn

Tressie Ule January Linn, 93, of Colcord, Okla., died Aug. 28, 2016, at her home. She was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Delaware County, Okla., to Henry January and Vina Potter January.

She married Charles Linn on Aug. 8, 1939, in Cherokee City, Ark., and they were married for 64 years. They had six children and raised three of their grandchildren. They attended the Assembly of God Church in Colcord.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Wynona Linn; one granddaughter, Doris Owens; two great-grandsons, Dustin Leroy and Taylan Taylor; three brothers, Roy January, Johnny January, and Ray January; and two sisters, Faye Florer and Velma Linn.

She is survived by five children, Ralph Linn of Colcord, Lavene Linn and wife Louise of Westville, Okla., Dale Linn and wife Christine of Colcord, Charlene Smith and husband Gary of Stilwell, Okla., and Janice Leroy of Colcord; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dessie Johnson of Coulsa, Calif., Pearl Hollenback of Colcord, and Mildred Hollenback of Campo, Colo.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Colcord, with Pastor Eldon "Butch" January officiating. Burial will follow at Row Cemetery in Colcord.

Jessie Katheryn Lowe

Jessie Katheryn Lowe, 75, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died on Aug. 29, 2016, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born Nov. 7, 1940, in Platte City, Mo., to Everett Phillips and Helen Ratliff Phillips.

She was retired from Franklin Electric.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lowe; and daughter, Brenda Kay Thurman.

She is survived by two daughters, Katheryn Thompson and husband Robert of Siloam Springs, and Jessica Vaughn of Siloam Springs; a son, Arthur Thurman and wife Sherlyn of Fayetteville, Ark; two sisters, Pat Rhodes and husband Robert of Lenox, Iowa, and Sharon Haddock and husband Jerry of Siloam Springs; a brother, Frank Phillips and wife Edie of Binghampton, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, with Pastor Gordon Topping officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery near Wedington.

Angela 'Angie' Sue McCallister

Angela "Angie" Sue McCallister, 47, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Aug. 25, 2016, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born Sept. 2, 1968, to Lloyd and Brenda McCallister.

She was employed with Simmons Industries as a deboner. She enjoyed singing, animals and was a very outgoing, sociable person.

She is survived by her parents; her husband, Richard Weicht of Tiff City, Mo.; two children, Pepsi Weicht of Bella Vista, Ark., and Priscilla Weicht of Gentry, Ark.; one grandson; a brother, Brian McCallister of Gravette, Ark.; and a sister, Janie McCallister of Gravette.

A memorial service was held on Aug. 29 at the Backstrom--Pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs.

Joel David Sands

Joel David Sands, 41, of Chewey, Okla., died on Aug. 27, 2016 at the Tahlequah City Hospital in Tahlequah, Okla.

He was born Nov. 22, 1974 in Tahlequah to David and Jonita Sand. He married Melody Haney on Dec. 3, 2005 at the Sequoyah Chapel in Tahlequah. He drove for the Brake Trucking. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, sharpening his knives, spending time with his family and watching his kid's activities. He was a member of Illinois River Baptist Church in Chewey.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Christian Haney of Tahlequah, Jonathon Matthew Pilcher of Tahlequah, Sarah Marie Pilcher of Fayetteville, Ark., and Joel Isaiah Sands Jr. of Kansas, Okla.; his parents of Chewey; three sisters, Nanette Sidebottom of Kansas, Okla., Sherry Sands of Chewey, and Brandice Harmon and husband Zach of Flint Ridge, Okla.; and two brothers, Cody Caughman of Chewey, and Adam Turtle of Lake Port, Fla.

Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 at Souls Harbor Church in Chewey.

A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at Souls Harbor Church in Chewey, with Rev. Wayne "Booley" Forrest and Rev. Craig Sands officiating. Burial will be at Sands Cemetery in Chewey.

Douglas Walter Riley

Douglas Walter Riley, 86, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Aug. 27, 2016, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. He was born April 24, 1930, in Valentine, Neb., to Alva Franklin Riley and Hazel Estelle Hopkins Riley.

He married Dorothy Frederick on March 15, 1952, in White River, S.D. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He worked as a rancher for many years before moving to Missouri and becoming a dairy farmer. After trying his hand as a dairy farmer, he and his family moved to Westville, Okla., and later Siloam Springs. He spent 20 years working for Hudson Farms as a truck driver and foreman. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Siloam Springs and a member of American Legion Post 29.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas Walter Riley Jr., and Dale Allen Riley; two grandchildren, Baby Boy Putman, and Amy Jo Putman; and eight siblings, Alvie Riley, Irona Ross, Margie Brill, Helen Peterson, George Riley, Lorraine Stillwell, Ted Riley and Donald Riley.

He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Diane Riley of Watts, Okla., Darlene Youngpuppy and husband Leo of Watts, Debra Putman of Siloam Springs and Doris Miller of Siloam Springs; 11 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Hopkins Riley of Wahoo, Neb.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Wasson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, with Rev. David Hudak and Pastor Jim Beavers officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

ImaLee "Maw" Winfield

ImaLee Winfield, 81, of Siloam Springs, Ark., and longtime resident of Wagoner, Okla., died Aug. 30, 2016 at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born Nov. 14, 1934 in Tulsa, Okla., to Albert Neal and Edna Martin Neal. She married Gordon Winfield on Sept. 3, 1955 in Tulsa, Okla. She worked as a waitress and a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by two daughters, Renee Catron of Kansas, Okla., and Rhonda Harris of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 at Kansas Cemetery in Kansas, Okla., with Sam Andrews officiating.
