Eighth-grade teams lose

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade girls dropped to 1-3 on the season after a 43-38 loss to Stilwell (Okla.) Maryetta on Thursday.

The Lady Panthers led 10-8 after the first quarter and 22-12 at halftime, but Maryetta rallied to take a 29-27 lead going into the fourth quarter after outscoring Siloam Springs 17-5 in the fourth.

Maryetta outscored the Lady Panthers 14-11 in the fourth quarter.

Julia Jackson led the Lady Panthers with 14 points, while Mia Hevener had 10, Jadyn Still nine, Madi Race three and Sydney Moorman two.

BoysStilwell Maryetta 44, Siloam Springs 19

Maryetta outscored Siloam Springs 23-5 in the second half to run away with the win in the eighth-grade boys game.

Maryetta took a 12-7 lead after the first quarter and led 21-14 at halftime. Maryetta outscored the Panthers 14-2 in the third quarter and 9-3 in the fourth.

Landon Ward and Dusty Buckner each led the Panthers (2-2) with five points, while Camden Collins had four, Breck Soderquist three and Jackson Ford two.

Up next

Both teams return to action on Monday as they host Bentonville Fulbright in their final game before Christmas break. The girls game is at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys game.
