TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Josh Hunt scored a team-high 20 points and Siloam Springs picked up a road win at Tahlequah (Okla.) Sequoyah on Friday night.

It was the Panthers' final game before the Christmas break.

"It was the first game this season we put it all together, offense, defense, transition and most importantly, ball control," said head coach Tim Stewart. "We shot well, hititng nine 3s and got to the free-throw line, hitting 14 of 15. Best of all we limited our turnovers.

"Defensively we did a great job taking away their two best players and our zone slides were as good as they've been this season. Very proud of our team, great way to go into the Christmas break!"

The Panthers led 21-12 after the first quarter, but Sequoyah rallied for a 33-30 lead at halftime.

The two teams were tied 42-42 going into the fourth quarter, where the Panthers outscored the Indians 17-7.

Charlie Jones chipped in 13 points for the Panthers, while Omar Vazquez had nine, Harrison Kretzer seven, Noah Karp five, Spencer Lashley three and Josh Heinrichs two.

The Panthers will return to action on Dec. 28-30 in the annual Siloam Springs Holiday Classic held at the Panther Activity Center.

Girls

Talequah Sequoyah 59, Siloam Springs 38

The Lady Indians handed the Lady Panthers their fourth straight loss Friday in Siloam Springs' final game before Christmas break.

Sequoyah led 18-9 after the first quarter and pulled ahead 30-14 at halftime. The Lady Indians took a 49-25 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Sidney Henry led the Lady Panthers with eight points, while Alexis Roach, Morgan Vaughn and Chloe Price all had seven points. Hadlee Holleback had four points, while Abby Vaughn and Kirsten Loftis each had two.

The Lady Panthers will return to action on Dec. 28-30 in the annual Siloam Springs Holiday Classic held at the Panther Activity Center.
