Summer workouts resume for Panthers

n Siloam Springs will host local teams Monday for 7-on-7.

The Siloam Springs football team returns to its summer program on Monday after more than two weeks off for the Arkansas Activities Association Dead Period.

The dead period officially began on June 27 and ran through Sunday, but the Panthers have been off since June 22.

Workouts resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning at the fieldhouse, and another workout is available at 5:30 p.m. Two workouts are available on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays, while a morning workout only is available on Wednesdays.

Another activity starting on Monday will the the local 7-on-7 competition, beginning at 6 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

Siloam Springs head coach Bryan Ross said Prairie Grove, West Fork, Greenland and Gentry will join the Panthers for games on each of the the next three Monday nights to work on their passing game.

Games will last approximately 25 minutes each with traditional 7-on-7 rules. Official score and statistics will not be kept.

Siloam Springs will participate in a team camp at Rogers Heritage on July 18, and the Panthers' junior varsity players have two camps scheduled in July. One JV camp will be Wednesday at Springdale Har-Ber, while another JV camp is July 20 at Rogers High.

The last day of summer workouts is July 28. A player/parent meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. on July 29 in the high school cafeteria.

Fall practice begins at 7 a.m. Aug. 1.
