Faith, Family and Fireworks Festival planned for July 3

KANSAS, OKLA. -- Independence Day will be celebrated in Kansas, Okla., with a Faith, Family and Fireworks festival at Lifepoint Fellowship on July 3.

About 5,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which will begin at 2 p.m. and last through the fireworks show at dusk, according to Rex Blisard, co-pastor of the church. The festival will feature performances by Christian musicians We Are Messengers and Stars Go Dim, as well as a FMX motorcycle stunt show by Todd Bennick. Local Christian bands will also be performing throughout the day, including Life Point, Against The Flaw and Among The Lost, he said.

Other highlights of the festival will be free watermelon, food vendors, bounce house and inflatable water slides, Blisard said. Evangelists Rob Pierce and Marty Brock will also be speaking during the event, and KLRC radio station will be broadcasting live throughout the day, he said.

The event will conclude with a "huge" fireworks show in the evening, Blisard said. Those who attend may bring blankets, lawn chairs and shade canopies. Children should also dress ready to get wet on the water slides, he said.
