Seventh-grade football defeats Kirksey

ROGERS -- The Siloam Springs seventh-grade football team remained unbeaten Monday after an 8-6 victory over the eighth-grade B team of Rogers Kirksey at Whitey Smith Stadium at Rogers High School.

The Panthers scored their only touchdown in the first quarter on a 27-yard sweep by Christian Ledeker. Josh Stewart ran in the two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead.

Kirksey scored its touchdown in the third quarter, but the Cougars' two-point conversion failed as Siloam Springs remained ahead.

Defensively, Brenden Lashley had an interception for Siloam Springs.

The seventh-graders return to action at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at home against Harrison.

Eighth-grade

ROGERS -- Rogers Oakdale defeated the Siloam Springs eighth-grade team 28-0 on Monday afternoon at David Gates Stadium on the campus of Rogers Heritage.

The game was played on Monday because Thursday's game was postponed due to thunderstorms.

The loss drops the eighth-grade Panthers to 0-2. They'll return to action on Thursday at home against Fayetteville Woodland.
