Junior High volleyball teams lose at Fayetteville

n The seventh-grade team picked up a win Thursday at home.

FAYETTEVILLE -- The Siloam Springs junior high volleyball teams were defeated on the road at Fayetteville on Tuesday night.

The ninth-graders (1-11-1) lost to Fayetteville Purple 2-0 (25-17, 25-11), while the eighth-graders (3-11-1) lost to Fayetteville Ramay 2-0 (25-13, 25-13).

Both teams return to action on Monday at home against Springdale George.

Seventh-grade

The seventh-grade volleyball team picked up a victory against Springdale J.O. Kelly 2-1 (25-18, 16-25, 15-12) on Thursday night.

Brianna Wood led with eight aces and two kills, while Allison Williamson had six aces. Molly Self and Rachel Davis each had three aces, while Kami Hulbert had two aces and Haliee Free one ace for the Lady Panthers (2-4).

The two teams also played an extra set before the actual match, and Siloam Springs won that game 25-14.

On Tuesday, the seventh-graders lost to Huntsville's eighth-grade team 2-1 (18-25, 25-14, 15-7).

Williamson and Wood each had three aces, while Dorothy Swearingen, Free and Hulbert each had one ace. Wood had two kills, while Swearingen and Free each had one kill.
