John Brown University's Artist Series will welcome pianist Alex McDonald to a concert titled "Faith in the Music of Franz Liszt" at 7:30 p.m. April 11 in the Berry Performing Arts Center.

McDonald, whose performances critics describe as "electrically charged" and "naturally charismatic," has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world and has won prizes at many piano competitions. McDonald received a Harvey Fellowship from the Mustard Seed Foundation in 2008 and competed in the Van Cliburn Competition in 2014. Having earned a master's and doctorate from the Juilliard School, McDonald teaches private lessons to students who have gone on to Eastman, Julliard and other notable music schools.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. To purchase tickets, visit jbu.edu/tickets or call 479-524-7382.
