Kansas junior high athletes fare well at Afton

The Kansas Junior High girls placed third at the Afton Junior High Track Meet on April 10.

Baylie Tarin placed second in the long jump at 12 feet, 2 inches, while Haylee Buck was third at 11-9.

The Lady Comets' 4x800-meter relay team of Alyssa Glass, Emily Jech, Kylie Lamb and Tain finished third at 12:35.28.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Skylar Scott, Savannah Brock, Buck and Baylee Davis placed third at 58.13.

Davis finished second in the 800-meter run at 2:42.48, while Fallyn Tarin was third at 2:52.0.

Davis took third in the 400-meter dash at 1:13.0

Scott was second in the 300-meter hurdles at 57.52

Glass finished second in the 1,600-meter run at 6:35.0, while Fallyn Tarin was third at 6:40.0

The Lady Comets' 4x400-meter relay of J'Lynne Bryant, Fallyn Tarin, Baylie Tarin and Baylee Davis took third at 5:04.28.

Junior high boys

The Comets took second place overall at the Afton meet.

The Comets placed second in four relays.

The 4x100-meter relay team of William Hall, Easton Wiggins, Darkus Jumper and Dakota Davis placed second at 51.05.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Hall, Wiggins, Jumper and Davis took second at 1:48.90.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Bobby Honaker, Hall, Davis and Jumper finished second at 4:17.93.

The team of Staley Starr, Drew Patterson, Hall and Honaker placed second in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 10:54.4.

Jacob Jones placed first in the shot put with a throw of 40-10.5, while Tim Olinghouse was fifth.

Bryant Shaver placed third in the long jump at 12-10.

Jumper took second in the high jump at 5-2.

Davis placed second in the 100-meter dash.

Shaver placed first in the 300-meter hurdles at 48.81, while Josiah Robinson was fourth at 56.43.

Shelby Spence placed third in the 200-meter hurdles at 27.2, while Honaker was fifth at 1:06.5.

Starr placed third in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:05, while Honaker was fifth at 1:06.5.

Starr took second in the 800-meter run at 2:33 with Honaker placing sixth at 2:47.

Robinson took fourth place in the 1,600-meter run at 6:28.

Senior high

The Kansas senior high track teams participated at the Miami (Okla.) High School Meet on April 13.

The girls 4x800-meter relay placed fourth at 13:21.

Jamall Potter placed second in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.96, while Colton Capps was fourth in the 100-meter dash at 12.10.

Capps placed third in the 200-meter dash at 14.65.

Austin Glass was fourth in the 1,600-meter run at 5:24.09.

The high school track team is scheduled to participate in the Catoosa Meet on Thursday.
