TULSA, Okla. -- Siloam Springs junior girls soccer standout Audrey Maxwell broke the Lady Panthers' single-season record for goals scored Monday night, but it wasn't enough as Siloam Springs lost on the road 4-3 at Booker T. Washington.

Maxwell, who came into the match tied with Sarah Kidd (2006) and Adrienne Kennedy (2011) with 27 goals, scored her 28th of the season to set the record.

"I was proud of Audrey," said Siloam Springs head coach Brent Crenshaw. "She has done a great job putting the ball in the back of the net for us this year. She is a great player and great kid to coach."

Brooklyn Buckminster and Abigail Cole also scored goals for Siloam Springs (15-3), which saw its 10-match winning streak snapped.

The Lady Panthers fell behind 2-0 early to the Lady Hornets, who are one of the better soccer programs in Oklahoma.

Frustrated with a lack of effort, Crenshaw subbed out nine of his starting 11 players around 10 minutes into the game.

"They showed no desire to be there," Crenshaw said. "My reserves came in and worked so hard. I was really pleased with Laura Morales as she stayed in with reserves, along with Hailey Dorsey, and worked hard and didn't quit when adversity hit."

Siloam Springs trailed 4-0 at halftime, and Crenshaw brought back out his second string to start the second half.

With around 30 minutes left, the starters went back in and played well for the remainder of the game, Crenshaw said.

"It's another lesson, hopefully, that you have to play a full 80 (minutes) to compete against good teams and not to buckle when adversity hits us in the mouth," Crenshaw said.

Sydney Bomstad, Morales and Megan Hutto had assists for the Lady Panthers. Hutto's assist gave her 13 on the year, tied for the team lead with Maxwell.

Siloam Springs' soccer teams play a 5A/6A District 1 doubleheader at Greenwood on Tuesday. Results were not available at presstime.

Both teams are scheduled to play at Russellville on Friday with the varsity boys playing at 5:15 p.m., followed by the varsity girls immediately afterward.

The Panthers lost to Russellville 4-0 on April 12 in Siloam Springs, while the Lady Panthers won 2-1. Both games were rematches of the 2016 Class 6A state finals.
