Rex Lee Allen

Rex Lee Allen, 83, of Colcord, Okla., died Aug. 14, 2017, at his home.

He was born Nov. 6, 1933, in Delaware County, Okla., to Albert Lee Allen and Emma Rutherford Allen. He married Irene Dee Alexander on May 11, 1955, in Reno, Nev. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated with a Master's Degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. He worked as a school superintendent for the Gore, Okla., Ketchum, Okla., and Colcord School Districts. He was an elder for the Colcord Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Allen; one son, Randall Allen and wife Kim of Colcord; one daughter, Debra Geurin and husband David of Dewey, Okla.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; three step great-grandchildren; and six step great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at Colcord Church of Christ with Larry Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery in Cherokee City, Ark.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colcord Church of Christ Youth Fund, P.O. Box 25, Colcord, OK 74338.

Charles Wayman Dearing Jr.

Charles Wayman Dearing Jr., 54, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Aug. 16, 2017, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital.

He was born May 20, 1963, in Colorado, to Charles Wayman Dearing Sr. and Nancy Darling. He worked for a time at Superior Wheel in Siloam Springs and then for Allen's Canning Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by one sister, Tammy Romero of Gentry, Ark.; two half-sisters, Jo Ann and Teresa Daring; five half-brothers, George Daring, Ricky Dearing, Richard Dearing, Wayman Dearing, and Eldon Dearing; paternal grandmother, Evaleta Dearing Tobie of Siloam Springs; uncle, Bennie Dale Dearing and wife Kathy of Everton, Ark.; and aunt, Jane Gayer and husband Rance of Fayetteville, Ark.

Graveside services were Aug. 19, 2017, at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Prairie Grove, Ark.
