Community Clinic Siloam Springs Medical's 12th annual fundraiser -- A Summer Masquerade -- was held on Saturday at Riverside Event Center.

More than 150 people attended the event, which included live music, Cajun cuisine by Cafe Rue Orleans, a live auction by Bailey & Oliver Law Firm and a silent auction. Although Community Clinic has facilities throughout Northwest Arkansas, 100 percent of the money raised on Saturday will be used in Siloam Springs, according to organizer Raquel Beck.

"We were overwhelmed with the generosity and support of the community and all that attended," she said.

During the evening Kathy Grisham, CEO of Community Clinic Northwest Arkansas, presented honorary chairs Devin and Trish Houston with an award. The local clinic's two full-time health providers, Dr. Richard Pruiksma and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Nicole Davis, also spoke about the patients they serve. Other local doctors who partner with the clinic to offer specialty services were also recognized.

Community Clinic provides low cost medical care to people who do not have access to affordable insurance, Grisham said. She noted that all patients invest some amount in their medical care through the use of a sliding scale form of pay. Last year, the Siloam Springs clinic saw more than 5,000 patients from across western Benton County and northeastern Oklahoma, and 2,200 patients made Community Clinic Siloam Springs their medical home, Beck said.

The fundraiser is an example of the community of Siloam Springs coming together and supporting their neighbors, Beck said. Community Clinic had great support from local businesses, Riverside entertainment and from the volunteer Bailey & Oliver Law Firm auction team, she said.

"That's what makes Siloam Springs so special," she said.
