The Siloam Springs golf teams returned to the course for the first time in nearly two weeks Monday as the Panthers and Lady Panthers hosted Alma and Springdale in a tri-match at Siloam Springs Country Club.

Both Siloam Springs teams had not played a match since Aug. 7-8 when they played in the Ultimate Auto Group Invitational in Mountain Home. The Panthers and Lady Panthers were scheduled to host Rogers Heritage last week, but that match was rained out.

After a pair of third place finishes in Springdale and Mountain Home, the Lady Panthers picked up their first win of the season, besting Alma 133-199. Springdale had one girls player and did not field a team score.

"It was good to get back out on the course and compete against someone after two weeks without a match," said Siloam Springs golf coach Michael Robertson. "It was good to see the girls scoring well consistently, but there are still many areas and moments where all of them can cut many strokes off their rounds. We're looking forward to playing 18 (holes) against Greenwood on Thursday."

Senior Brinkley Beever shot a low round of 39 to earn the medalist honors for the match.

Juniors Kaitlyn Robinson and McKenzie Blanchard each shot 46 to round out the Lady Panthers' three counting scores, while junior Jaelee Snyder shot 49 and junior Kendall McCormick 57.

Alma's Raegan Gray shot 58 to lead the Airedalettes, while Haylie Parker shot 70, Reed Langdon 71 and Brooklyn Sanderson 73. Springdale's Makenna Bollinger shot a 77.

In junior varsity action, Siloam Springs sophomores Ella Zaidner and Kendi Williamson shot 63 and 66, respectively.

Boys

A slip-up on just a couple of holes might have cost the Siloam Springs boys their first victory of the season.

Alma's Parker Edwards fired a 39, and teammate Christian Stahler shot 40, as the Airedales edged out the Panthers 170-175. Springdale finished third with a count-four round of 207.

Juniors Chase Beyer and Karson Clement each shot 42 to lead Siloam Springs. Sophomore Evan Bauer shot 45, followed by junior Josh Johnson 46 and sophomore Luke Baker 47.

"The big numbers hurt the boys' rounds today," Robertson said. "We played well for seven holes with a couple big numbers. We are young -- really three guys in their first full season of varsity action. They just need to play. Thursday will be a good day for them to get some time on a driving range and work some things out. They will be fine."

Paul Gambill and Caleb Griffith each shot 46 to wrap up Alma's scores, while Tanner Bright shot 51.

Michael Justis led Springdale with a 48, while Dagen Fuller shot 50, Garrett Fulghum 53 and Fletcher Lyons 56.

Siloam Springs had 10 players compete in junior varsity action: Trey Jackson 53, Owen Thomas 53, Andrew Valadez 56, Breck Soderquist 57, Ethan Owens 57, Max Perkins 58, Sam Everett 61, Nick Gray 61, Chris Svebek 62 and Jacob Smith 72.
