Sales tax report

Siloam Springs sales tax receipts back up in October following a brief dip in September.

Sales tax receipts were up $43,113 to $655,332 in October, compared to $612,219 in October 2016, according to the November issue of City & Town magazine.

County sales tax receipts were down $4,432, from $261,699 in October 2016 to $257,267 in October 2017. City sales tax receipts were down $9,324 in September. It was the first time in 39 months that sales tax receipts did not show growth in comparison with the previous year.

The city's sales tax receipts come from its 2 percent sales tax. The total sales tax rate in Siloam Springs is 9.5 percent.

City sales tax receipts are used for utility infrastructure, repayment of wastewater treatment plant bonds, the city's general fund, public safety and the street department.

A share of county sales tax receipts pays on two water utility infrastructure bonds.

Other cities that saw an increase in city sales tax receipts were:

• Eureka Springs, up $43,119 to $218,428

• Fayetteville, up $140,796 to $3.68 million

• Gentry, up $10,561 to $51,180

• Lincoln, up $658 to $44,506

• Rogers, up $88,079 to $2.95 million

• Springdale, up $33,316 to $2.35 million.

Cities that saw a decrease in city sales tax receipts were:

• Bentonville, down $349,305 to $1.97 million
