Seventh-grade boys win in double OT

STILWELL, Okla. -- The Siloam Springs seventh-grade boys pulled out a 39-38 win in double overtime Wednesday against Maryetta (Okla.) for their sixth straight victory.

Josh Stewart led the Panthers (11-3) with 19 points, while Carter Winesburg scored seven, Jace Sutulovich had five and Devin Higgs, Caden Pharr, Jedidiah Hunter and Hunter Talley each scored two.

The Lady Panthers lost to Maryetta 30-16 and dropped to 7-7 on the season. The win snapped the Lady Panthers' three-game winning streak.

Siloam Springs trailed 9-7 after the first quarter and 19-9 at halftime. Maryetta increased their lead to 28-14 going into the fourth quarter.

Halle Hernandez and Reina Tiefel each scored four points for Siloam Springs, while Hannah Riley, Sidney Pfieffer, Naomi Boyd and Carley Carswell each scored two.

Up next

The seventh-grade teams close out the season Monday against Zion (Okla.) at Panther Arena. The boys play at 4:30 p.m., followed by the girls around 5:30.
