Eighth-grade boys rally, snap losing skid

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade boys snapped an 11-game losing streak on Monday with a 24-18 win against Springdale Lakeside at Panther Activity Center.

The Panthers, who last won on Dec. 5, trailed 9-3 after the first quarter and 11-8 at halftime.

Lakeside extended its lead to 18-14 entering the fourth quarter, but the Panthers outscored the Golden Eagles 10-0 in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory.

Max Perkins led the Panthers (3-12) with five points, while Ethan Drake, Camden Collins and Dusty Buckner each scored four. Keegan Soucie, Solomon Hufford and Jackson Ford each scored two, and Nathan Lee added one for the Panthers.

Eighth-grade girls

The Siloam Springs eighth-grade girls doubled up Springdale Lakeside early and rolled to a 52-18 victory at Panther Activity Center on Monday night.

The Lady Panthers led 14-7 after the first quarter and 33-9 at halftime. Siloam Springs pulled ahead 46-15 going into the fourth quarter.

Jadyn Still led the Lady Panthers (7-8) with 13 points, while Julia Jackson scored 10, Mia Hevener nine, Micah Curry seven, Sydney Moorman five, Jordan Rush four and Hattie Price and Quincy Efurd each with two.
