Colcord's girls basketball team was defeated 72-41 by Mounds on Saturday in the Class 2A Area II District finals at Mounds.
The Lady Hornets move on to this week's regional tournament and will play Thursday at 1:30 p.m. against Wyandotte at Rejoice Christian.
The Lady Hornets need to win three straight games in order to advance to the regional tournament.
The Kansas (Okla.) teams also play Thursday in regional tournament action after picking up wins last Friday in the district tournament.
Both Kansas teams play Verdigris at Verdigris in the opening regional round. A victory on Thursday clinches an area tournament berth, and a loss Thursday would mean each team needs to win both Friday and Saturday to advance.
The Oaks (Okla.) girls basketball team's season came to an end Saturday with a 61-53 loss to Strother in the Class A Region Tournament.
