Eighth-grade girls win second game

n The eighth-grade boys lost their third straight.

ALMA -- The Siloam Springs eighth-grade girls basketball team returned to action on Thursday, and the Lady Panthers picked up their second win of the season 32-23 over Alma.

Alma led 13-4 after the first quarter, but the Lady Panthers (2-4) only allowed the Airedalettes to score 10 points total over the final three quarters.

Siloam Springs still trailed 15-10 at halftime, but the Lady Panthers tied the game at 20 going into the fourth quarter, where they outscored Alma 12-3.

Sydney Moorman and Jadyn Still each scored nine points to lead Siloam Springs, while Julia Jackson had eight, Mia Hevener four and Hattie Price two.

Airedales 39, Panthers 26

Alma handed the eighth-grade boys their third straight loss on Thursday.

The Panthers led 10-7 after the first quarter, but Alma rallied to take a 16-12 lead at halftime. Alma outscored Sioam Springs 14-4 in the third quarter to take a 30-16 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Landon Ward led the Panthers with 13 points, while Breck Soderquist, Ethan Drake and Will Gryder each with three and Trey Whorton and Gavyn Cordova both with two.

Up next

The eighth-grade teams play at Fayetteville Woodland on Monday, with the girls scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 6:45 p.m.
