Swim teams compete at Clarksville Invitational

CLARKSVILLE -- The Siloam Springs swimming teams returned to action on Monday at the Clarksville January Invitational held at the Clarksville Aquatic Center.

The Siloam Springs boys finished second overall with 334 points, finishing behind Conway, which took first with 450 points. Other boys teams were Rogers 275, Rogers Heritage 167, Clarksville 148, Maumelle 91, Lamar 83 and Russellville 82.

The Siloam Springs girls finished fifth with 174 points. Conway was first at 540, followed by Clarksville 223, Rogers 195, Russellville 190. Finishing behind Siloam Springs was Lamar 106, Rogers Heritage 97, Maumelle 70 and Scranton 33.

In the girls 200-yard medley relay, the team of Baleigh Butler, Catherine Donner, Caroline Farine and Shayla Enlow placed fourth with a time of 2 minutes, 25.37 seconds. The team of McKenzie Blanchard, Britain Castagna, Chandler Losh and Tabitha Eiland finished in 2:40.19.

The boys 200-yard medley relay team of Hayden Moore, Landon Cottrell, Lee Thompson and Ethan Andrus placed third at 2:00.97. The team of Harrison Losh, Zachary Becan, Ethan Davis and Luke Markovich finished in 2:17.96.

Andrus took sixth place in the boys 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:47.65.

Donner was sixth in the girls 200-yard freestyle at 3:05.76.

Cottrell led the Panthers in the boys 200-yard individual medley at 2:23.80 to finish fifth, while Thompson was eighth at 2:43.86.

Farine placed third in the girls 50-yard freestyle at 28.55, while Enlow was eighth at 31.13, Eiland 10th at 32.26, Blanchard 20th at 36.43 and Megan Rush 24th at 37.14.

Will O'Hare took third place in the boys 50-yard freestyle at 23.57, while Ryke Beever was fourth at 23.81, Moore sixth at 24.73, Davis 11th at 27.16, Quade Greening 17th at 28.57, Stephen Smalley 25th at 30.36 and Sean Jeppsen 28th at 31.56.

Chandler Losh took eighth place in the girls 100-yard butterfly at 1:40.37.

Brittan Butler was third in the boys 100-yard butterfly at 57.86, while Thompson was sixth at 1:07.89.

O'Hare placed third in the boys 100-yard freestyle at 55.02, followed by Beever in fourth at 55.52, Markovich 13th at 1:06.50, Greening 15th at 1:08.37 and Becan 19th at 1:15.49.

Davis took fourth place in the boys 500-yard freestyle with a time of 7:14.92.

The team of Donner, Enlow, Eiland and Farine took fourth place in the girls 200-yard freestyle relay at 2:06.11. The team of Chandler Losh, Rush, Baleigh Butler and Castagna finished at 2:25.39.

The boys 200-yard freestyle relay team of Beever, Brittain Butler, Moore and O'Hare took second at 1:36.07, while the team of Harrison Losh, Markovich, Becan and Andrus finished in 1:59.37.

Baleigh Butler placed ninth in the girls 100-yard backstroke at 1:26.83.

Brittan Butler placed first in the boys 100-yard backstroke at 1:01.78.

Blanchard finished 10th in the girls 100-yard breaststroke at 1:37.94, while Castagna was 11th at 1:39.44.

Cottrell placed fourth in the boys 100-yard breaststroke at 1:11.70, while Moore was seventh at 1:18.07, Harrison Losh 11th at 1:30.68 and Becan 12th at 1:32.38.

The girls 400-yard freestyle relay team of Donner, Enlow, Castagna and Farine placed second at 5:05.94, while the team of Chandler Losh, Rush, Baleigh Butler and Eiland finished in 5:32.02.

The boys 400-yard freestyle relay team of Brittan Butler, Beever, Cottrell and O'Hare placed first with a time of 3:44.12. The team of Thompson, Andrus, Harrison Losh and Markovich finished in 4:30.63.

The swim teams return to action with a home meet on Jan. 19 at the Walton Lifetime Health Complex. The swim teams will also be holding a fundraiser in conjunction with the Evan Thomas Foundation and TJ's Pizza. A portion of all sales throughout that day will be donated to the foundation.
